You will burn out quickly if you try to take the maximum number of credits and join every campus activity that sounds interesting. Take a reasonable number of credits and try one or two activities your first semester. To save time and money, try taking the bus to campus. You may find that it doesn't actually take that much longer to get to school by bus. You'll save time looking for a parking spot on campus too. You don't have to pay for gas and parking passes. It is also great for the environment. If possible try to live for your first year in campus housing. By taking advantage of room and board you can give yourself more of a chance to focus on getting accustomed to the campus and community. Then in following years you will have a better idea of where you might prefer to live on your own. Take extra writing utensils with you to your tests. There is always a strong possibility that your pencil could break or that your pen could run out of ink while you're doing your test. Having a backup writing utensil can help you continue your test without being distracted by having to sharpen a pencil or refill a pen. College is a crazy and wonderful time, full of learning, meeting new people and discovering so much more about yourself. Take full advantage of this time and keep the end-goal in mind at all times. Once you've got that college diploma, the sky is the limit to what you can do!
